Fifty- five acres offers still more opportunity to enjoy the beauty and community of Franklin. The park is located just off U.S. 31 between Franklin Lakes sub division and Young's Creek. This 55-acre park includes a 1.5 mile continuation of the Historic Franklin Greenway Trail, playground, picnic shelter, informal play fields and basketball court.
We have added a new 22 element low ropes challenge course designed for group interaction and team building. There are 12 acres of native Indiana wildflowers.

A new footbridge connects the Blue Heron Park to the Blue Heron Wetland, which includes a boardwalk over the water. (This is NOT a good place for dogs, as there's lots of wildlife). This natural wetland area will provide several benefits, including filtering runoff entering Young's Creek from the new development. The wetland will attract beneficial native wildlife to the area and will be used as an educational tool by Custer Baker and other schools in the Franklin community.

In the summer of 2004 a new all accessible playset was installed via volunteers.
